assault and robbery charges. >> new this woman an audit of agencies in san francisco show one far outpaced the others for racking up overtime. san francisco muni racked up more overtime than any other agency going $18 million over budget. the san francisco chronicle reports they beat out police and fire when it came to overtime with ten supervisors making more than $100,000 in overtime boosting their pay to $200,000 last year. one mechanic more than doubled his $106,000 annual salary by making an additional $163,000 in overtime. the chief says that a lot of work was done at night when the trains were not running to get a new train control system working. abc7 will have more in a live report next half hour. >> u.s. postal inspectors hope surveillance video will catch two men who stole mail from at least one apartment building in san francisco. security cameras captured these images of the men in action. the building manager says the two worked together to break in 32 mailboxes and snatched bags of mail. the landlord needs to repair the broken looks. this man did not want to share his name.

night. breaking into her san francisco home. assaulting and attempting to rape her. police say 25-year-old jovan jones was eventually tracked down. but as kron four's philippe djegal reports. that may not have happened so quickly if not for a good samaratan getting involved. >> reporter: this is where the san francisco police department says. a 26-year-old woman was assaulted saturday night. alta street. a small road on telegraph hill with no outlets. at night. the woman was entering her home. when 25-year-old jovan jones of marin city snuck up on her. forced his way into the home and threw the woman to the floor. police say he demanded money and some her stuff. then, threatened to kill her and assaulted her. police say someone outside of the home saw what was happening. and called 9-11. when police arrived. investigators say jones jumped off the balcony and ran off. less than an hour and a half later. with help of a california highway patrol helicopter. police tracked jones down a few blocks away from the victim's home on green street. jones was booked into san francisco county jail o

death row. a few hours ago, the city of san francisco reached a deal with charlie's owner, david. >> david relinquished ownership of charlie so that we could place him with a rescue sanctuary. >> reporter: charlie, the nearly two-year-old pit bull, will not be euthanized. he was sentenced to death back in august after he chased and attacked a police horse. that happened at crissy field. since then, his owner has been rallying for his dog's life, launching a huge internet campaign, which received more than 100,000 signatures. animal control officials say he never took responsibility for his dog. the city attorney agreed to spare charlie's life with a catch. he would have to give up his dog, sign him over to a sanctuary or rescue organization. >> he will have no contact with the future owner in any way, shape or form. he will receive updates quarterly about charlie's health and well-being. and that concluded the matter. >> reporter: beverly is a dog like charlie who has attacked in the past. they can be rehabilitated. >> i think it's possible f
